Some of the most famous traditional folk singers in Britain, including Martin Carthy and Laura Smyth, have chosen the British folk tunes they believe you should hear.
This British Folk Songs Playlist series was created with the intention of providing newcomers to the genre with a head start so they can move forward. It will be a fortnightly compilation of excerpts and suggestions from various well-known folk singers currently active in Britain. Each performer will discuss the old ballads and folk songs that inspired them. I hope it’s helpful to you.
